The Goring and Streatley Concert and Starter bands have always been proud of being fully representative of the community with our 70+ membership ranging in age from 8 to 80, in experience from novices to experts and everything in between! Being part of such a large and diverse group can be truly inspiring and this short-but-perfectly-formed concert by the bands and their Musical Directors (Andy Townsend and Claire Salmon) would make an ideal introduction to anyone interested in dusting down or picking up an instrument.
The programme has something for everyone and includes a wide-ranging mix of classics by Vaughan Williams and Rimksy-Korsakov, fantastic music by popular contemporary wind band composers, well-known film scores, some nostalgia to pull at heart strings, and for those who like to rock out, we have a healthy dose of stadium classics from Queen and Coldplay. We are sorry to be leaving Goring and Streatley on this occasion but our size necessitated a larger venue for this event. We are therefore grateful to Benson Parish hall for being able to accommodate us and of course it enables us to have more space for a larger audience - so please do join us - and bring everyone you know to join us for an hour of exhilerating musical entertainment!
